Independent power supply
The safety barrier requires a separate 24V power supply, such as GS8500-EX and other conventional models.
Loop power supply
No separate power supply is required, power and signal are transmitted in the same loop, such as GS8531-EX models.
Output loop power supply usually refers to the output signal being a passive signal, requiring an PLC/DCS system to provide an external power supply.
When choosing, note that the output accuracy of loop power supply might be slightly lower than that of independent power supply, and ensure that the power supply voltage of the safety barrier and the working voltage of the field device are compatible to ensure the normal operation of the equipment.
